LATELY

THOUGHTS. I’ve sat down a number of times the last couple of weeks to write something about my last three months. But every time I have erased the post before even publishing it. I don’t know why really. The whole experience has had a profound impact on me. I just can’t put my finger on what exactly happened and what it is that I’m taking with me. It was more than a trip, more than a chain of cities and places, more than the people I met. It has lifted me and I’m still trying to find a way to articulate what it was all about.

Sometimes I actually have to sit down and gather my thoughts and I find that writing about it always helps me. Writing has always given me a strange focus, words pour out on the paper and when I’m done, I’m almost always surprised. Both writing and photography work the same way for me, it’s a very subconscious craft. I don’t think much (or read at all) when I write or take photos. I just write. Or shoot. More often than not I’m surprised with the outcome. The results are always more focused and succinct than I am. I said I’d write more, so I am. Damnit, I am.

I’ve started working on some personal projects, I’m shooting more weddings/engagements works (uh oh, I know) And there’s stuff happening. Plans are being drawn up in the basement of my brain.

Stick around and I’ll tell you more about it soon xx.

AMY S. I SNEAK PEAK

MELBOURNE. Here's a recent shoot I did at St Kilda Beach with the lovely Amy, arts wonder Kristin & style guru - Chantelle. The weather was perfect (sunny humid!), with a perfect team! Every collaboration helps me grow. Good pictures' design begins with creativity, concept after concept and from trusting your intuition. I have always dream of a collaboration that would finally be total, in which the librettist would often think as a composer and the composer as a librettist. And I think I nailed it here alright ..

I love to find a great vintage secondhand shop so I incorporate the idea in this shoot. Chantelle pulled the vintage stunt and I love her more dearly! It is easily overlooked that what is now called vintage was once brand new.  In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage. So, thank you ladies! :)

To satisfy your curiosity, view some of my favs here and here .. let me know if you like it!

BONDI

BONDI BEACH. Home to the one of the world's oldest surf life saving clubs, if not the oldest, this gorgeous beach is the closest to Sydney. Got up just in time for the sunrise (aaaaw ..) Life looks so easy here. Everybody goes to the beach and get tan. With the bright sunny days, even winter days can be enjoyable here.

DREAMERS

I have had dreams and I have had nightmares, but I have conquered my nightmares because of my dreams. We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. They see things in the soft haze of a spring day or in the red fire of a long winter's evening. Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true. Like all dreamers I confuse disenchantment with truth.

PURPLE HEART

JUST IN. Doing some requisite hunting for some pre Christmas goodies this weekend. Made a stop by a vintage lovelies to grab some awesome basics and unintentionally updated my wardrobe with this lovely reasonably priced purple shades. CLEAN CUT

Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance. I imposed white; it still going strong today, for white stands out everything else around in any season.

CURRENTLY

Spotted this baby on Grazia.it and went totally gaga. Can someone tells me which brand it belongs so i can get back to my beauty sleep?

STREETS GREEN

SEE THRU

Loving the versatility here. I have a feeling it could provide something perfect for any context. I am kind of addicted to these see-thru details and perfectly structured shape. I can already imagine how this creation will fit perfectly into my wardrobe. The entire design just sets is so far apart from all the tops I own.  And I have a feeling things are not going to change dramatically any time soon. LOVE.

WFW (DAY 4) I ALEXIS MABILLE

Runway showcase by Alexis Mabille as part of Women's Fashion Week Haute Couture on October 29, 2011. An apprentice at Emmanuel Ungaro & Nina Ricci, Mabille was resident at Christian Dior for 9 years, working alongside John Galliano & Hedi Slimane. His rich and playful imagination, technical affinity and wealth of experience conjure a dynamic, playful and daring landscape; a unisex realm of sophistication where he is free to rewrite the codes of fashion.

WFW (DAY 4) I ANNE VALERIE HASH

The long awaited runway showcase by Anne Valerie Hash as part of Women's Fashion Week Haute Couture on October 29, 2011. Hash has made-to-measure clients spread out around the world, from Switzerland and Belgium to the Middle East and Asia.  For one thing, she has always had an enthusiasm for lingerie colors, and they were present yesterday, along with more vivid shades of orange and whites. The designer continues to work on cleaning lines, playing with contrasts of her famous flowing drapes and vertical lines. Silk pants, emphasizing the hips line; loose muslin blouses, feminine straight silk knee-length skirts and some long flowing skirts which adds sensuality. Hash experiments with elements of macrame and embroidery, appearing here and there in collar details, cuffs and plastronsInventive, imaginative tailoring was the main event. The results looked put-together, but not precious - which is pretty accurate way of describing French women's approach to dressing.

GIOIA PAN SS/2012

Beautiful artistic showcases on the runway with GIOIA PAN SS/2012 of China Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 on October 29, 2011 in Beijing, China

WFW (DAY 3) I CHRISTOPHE JOSSE

Christophe Josse on the catwalk as part of Women's Fashion Week Haute Couture on October 28, 2011. In this fall-winter collection, i'm impressed by cascades of organza and fantastic muslin dresses. There were not a single pair of pants. Dresses didn't echo each other; from midi to maxi, from pitch black to immaculate white. And here we get to the climax of couture collection – a wedding dress! This dress should only be worn once and that would be enough, a snow-white dress, woven from layers of tulle. Instead of a bridal veil designer, he has chosen red feathers – the white colour of innocence + red colour of victory, blood and love. And standing ovations. Bravo, maestro, bravo!

Opening showcase design during the August Silk Guo Baobao SS/2012 show of China Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 (Day 4) at the Banquet Hall, Beijing Hotel on October 27, 2011 in Beijing, China. Fascinating! China Fashion Week has so far already displayed an astonishing kaleidoscope of colors, shapes, and architectural designs. China's fashion world is exploding. And Asian models are currently all the rage in the fashion world.

CHINA FASHION WEEK SPRING/SUMMER 2012

A showcase designs on the catwalk by Weiyun Ye Jianying SS/2012 of China Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 on October 28, 2011 in Beijing, China that caught my eyes. As you know that Philippine Fashion Week (October 24-30, 2011) & China Fashion Week (October 25-November 1, 2011) are concurrently happening right now in Asia as we speak.
